<img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/jerseywatch-wysiwyg-files/production%2FCustomPage%2F67019%2F1658201377975-Attachment_1645286830.png" style="width: 220px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib">PBYFA/PALM BEACH IBIS ATTENDENCE POLICYThe PBYFA/ PALM BEACH IBIS policy on attendance was established to promote responsibility and teamwork. If you can&rsquo;t commit to our schedule we advise you: &ldquo;NOT TO SIGN YOUR CHILD UP FOR OUR PROGRAM&rdquo;! When school begins we will be practicing two to three days per week, two hours per practice. The following rules will be in effect with few exceptions. The only acceptable excuses are communicable illnesses and family crisis. &nbsp;Missing games or unexcused practices may make your child ineligible for any of the special awards at the end of season banquet in addition to being removed from the program. We are not only teaching your child cheering and football; they are learning responsibility, team work, and self-discipline, as well as providing valuable exercise that all children need to be healthy.&nbsp;1. Your child must attend practice to participate&nbsp;on game day. Your child should have a total of 4 or 6 hours each week (approx. 2hrs each practice).&nbsp;How will we calculate hours?For the entire the season, parents must sign their child in before dropping them off to practice. The new sign in location will be at the first gate before entering coaches parking lot. PLEASE NOTE: It&rsquo;s the parent&rsquo;s responsibility to sign their child in before dropping them off or watching them practice. Players will not be allowed to proceed through the gate if their parents don&rsquo;t sign them in; if a player don&rsquo;t sign in @ the gate, they will not accumulate practice hours &amp; it will be considered missed practice. Negligence is one of the leading causes for LAWSUITS in youth sports therefore we will put in the right protocol to prevent negligence from happening.&nbsp;2. Missing one practice will cause your child to sit out the first two quarters of a game. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;3. Missing two practices will make your child ineligible to participate on game day.&nbsp;4. Missing the practice before game day will make your child ineligible to participate on game day.5. Not showing on game day even though your child may not be eligible to participate will make him / her ineligible for the following week&rsquo;s game.6. In the case of unacceptable behavior, the coach may apply any of the above sanctions.It is your responsibility to contact your child&#39;s coach if he / she will be missing a practice or game. Don&#39;t expect your child&#39;s coach to contact you with information that may have been communicated when your child was not there. In the event of inclement weather, your child is to report to practice. Rain, snow or cold will not curtail practices. Games are played in these conditions and we must practice in them. This includes cheerleaders. Weather systems very often clear up quickly, and it would be a poor decision to cancel at 3 or 4 PM, and then find its fine at 6 PM. We will not practice or play games with lightning in the area. Practice / games will be halted, and the children sent to their vehicles. If another strike does not occur within 30 minutes the practice / game will resume. During a game it is the official&rsquo;s decision to wait again or call the game. The game will then be re-scheduled during the coming week. No member of this association or game official would intentionally put your child in harm&rsquo;s way for the sake of practice or completing a game.<div style="display: block;"><div contenteditable="true" spellcheck="false" style="direction: ltr; min-height: 303px;" tabindex="1">Examples of excused absences:<ul style="padding: 0px 0px 0px 1.75em; margin: 0px 0px 1em; overflow-wrap: break-word; box-sizing: inherit; list-style-position: initial; list-style-image: initial; overflow: hidden; min-width: 150px; color: rgb(102, 102, 102); font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"><li style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px; overflow-wrap: break-word; box-sizing: inherit; text-align: justify; color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Serious illness or death in the family;</li><li style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px; overflow-wrap: break-word; box-sizing: inherit; text-align: justify; color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Mandatory school event; and,</li><li style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px; overflow-wrap: break-word; box-sizing: inherit; text-align: justify; color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Planned vacation prior to the Jamboree.</li></ul>Coaches will address excused absences and playing time accordingly. &nbsp;When a player knows that he is going to be absent or late, he/she has the responsibility to notify their coach in advance, otherwise it will be treated as an unexcused absence. &nbsp;Also, Coaches understand that occasional school conflicts arise, and we prioritize academics first. However, we also expect players to use good time management skills to complete school work and make practice.&nbsp;Examples of unexcused absences:<ul style="padding: 0px 0px 0px 1.75em; margin: 0px 0px 1em; overflow-wrap: break-word; box-sizing: inherit; list-style-position: initial; list-style-image: initial; overflow: hidden; min-width: 150px; color: rgb(102, 102, 102); font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"><li style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px; overflow-wrap: break-word; box-sizing: inherit; text-align: justify; color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Planned vacation after Jamboree;</li><li style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px; overflow-wrap: break-word; box-sizing: inherit; text-align: justify; color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Conflict with other sport;</li><li style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px; overflow-wrap: break-word; box-sizing: inherit; text-align: justify; color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Birthday; and,</li><li style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px; overflow-wrap: break-word; box-sizing: inherit; text-align: justify; color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Camps, other teams, including try-outs, practices, etc&hellip; of other sports organizations.</li></ul>Players with unexcused absences can expect no playing time or reduced playing time. &nbsp;Practice attendance will be just one of the criteria to determine playing time. &nbsp;Playing time may be proportionately reduced for each practice missed. Note: This does not apply to injured players that attend practices but have limited participation in practice due their injury or illness. &nbsp;Players that do not fully participate in practices shall be 100% cleared for contact prior to being allowed to participate in practices and/or games.</div></div>
